Well, here we are again. It was only back in October that I was last on the hunt for a new planner to join the splendidly brilliant team at Mr. President.
Given all of the rather exciting projects we have going for Bacardi, combined with a loin-stirring selection of new business, we need another brain on board.
The type of planner we are after hasn't changed too much from the last time. But this time round, we are open to speaking to more senior types. Especially those from a brand planning background.
So, if you have over 5 years planning experience leading some big global creative clients, get in touch. Particularly if the thought of being in a hot little, nimble agency with super views of the urinal in Soho Square take your fancy. Entreprenurial thinking is a must.
So that thing we did in SXSW. The thing with Bacardi, bats and music. Yes, that thing. The final film of the escapade has gone live. You can see how we turned bat flight into music with some clever technoshizzle. We are rather proud.
Last night was the opening night for the amazing Teenage Cancer Trust season at the Royal Albert Hall. The splendid people at the Body Shop are the primary sponsor of the event.
So with them, we created a rather lovely little film to show how we are helping to boost people's self-esteem. By asking people at the gig to tweet a selfie with the hashtag #selfiesteem, The Body Shop will donate £1 to Teenage Cancer Trust. Here's our client Sam showing us how it is done with Ed Sheeran.
Was rather nice of all the people doing the #nomakeupselfie meme to get the ball rolling. Now let's boost some self-esteem and help out TCT at the same time.
Our little visit to Congress Bridge in Austin to meet their bats last night has gone rather well. There are a million of the furry Mexican Free-tailed blighters under that bridge, and we wanted to do something impressive with them for our client Bacardi. Especially considering Austin is awash with SXSWers right now.
So, take a little tech magic, mix with some Ableton cleverness, and turn the bats flight into music. The video above is just a taster, we're pulling together an Untameable film and track as we speak.
So, the Mr. President team is under a bridge at SXSW. And tonight, they will be attempting to turn Bats into music for Bacardi.
File this one under "audacious-music-meets-innovation-meets-brand icon-meets-tech and music festival-madness". Fingers crossed the bats come out to play with us.
It is rather lovely. Do go and judge for yourself - mr-president.co.uk. It is certainly light years better than the Tumblr that I built. That has been quietly retired. It now lives in a dusty old websites server, probably making friends with AOL and Myspace.
Yup, you can show me as many stock suffering-in-a-far-off-land charity ads, and I'll be as cold-hearted as the next man. But this... This. This gets me in the feels.
And what's more, the budget behind this must have been miniscule. No big glossy production. No celebrity endorsement. No over-complicated back-end donation mechanic. Just a lovely simple bit of creativity, executed splendidly. Meaning all the more cash going to where it should go - the charity.
The long running 25 lttrs n th alphbt blog has transmogrified into the official Mr President blog. Nick Emmel is still doing the blogging. Just now he can say that these ARE the thoughts endorsed by his employer.
